1.70% of metals in landfills come from electrical equipment waste.
2.These wastes,includes mercury,lead,flame retardants and PVC-coated copper wires which, contain a lot of toxic material.
3.It is highly hazardous, when the wastes are burnt.
4.People carrying out burning of these wastes are earning less than half a dollar per day and are exposed to toxic.
5.Manufacturers are required to remove harmful substances inside the machines by 2006
6.Some manufacturers have already offered to recyle the computers themselves.
Conclusion
As technology improves so quickly,there is a need for constant upgrading of our electricial equipments.This resulted in a huge amount of electrical equipment waste in landfills.These wastes,mercury,lead,flame retardants and PVC-coated copper wires,contain toxic.It is highly harmful when they are burnt.People burning these wastes are exposed to toxic,yet earning less than half a dollar per day.Manufacturers are requird to remove harmful substances inside the machines by 2006.Some manufacturers had already recycle computers themselvecs
I think law should be pass to prevent people from burning these toxic material without having safely measures.
